Let's look at this humorous picture stating the major differences between a man and a woman. It's for illustration purpose only and yet it so eloquently demonstrates how women are (or make things) so much more complicated. Yes, there are fundamental differences between men and women and yet 91% of all Fibromyalgia sufferers are women. Let's learn something from our fellow male friend and keep things simpler...

Hello Dear Ones,

Last night I went to a drug store to get a couple of items for my daughter when a $3.99 bar of Swiss Chocolate filled with Tiramisu was calling my name (I heard it loud and clear!).

Before I continue you must know that I’m an avid believer in eating chocolate at least 6 out of 7 days each week. Having grown up in Switzerland you can imagine that chocolate was a part of our daily diet – a must have. Switzerland has only 3 approved preservatives compared to 15 in the United States. And as you may know, it’s the preservatives that may cause our illnesses including cancer and more. If there is one thing I wish people would learn how to read it’s the “ingredients” not the “nutritional value” label.

The chocolate content in this bar is barely 20-30%. The rest is sugar, butter and other non-beneficial stuff. I asked myself silently why I was craving this bar of chocolate when I had a bar of chocolate at home that was 85% “proof.” And while I was walking through the aisles thinking about the answer I realized that earlier yesterday morning I had to say “good bye” to a friend and my heart was aching a little. I started to think about my friend and how it got to this place and wondered how things could have ended up different. As my mind was weighing the “good bye” and the urge for chocolate, I found myself in line with the items I went there for in the first place, without the bar of chocolate, when something interesting happened.

The woman in front of me was blind and accompanied by her guide dog, a beautiful yellow lab. All she wanted to buy was a can of ice tea, costing a total of $1.04. She had her $1 bill ready but when the cashier asked for the 4 cents, the blind woman said she would have to look for it in her pocket. The cashier responded that she would cancel the order and hold the ice tea for her until she got back in line with the correct amount. The blind woman took her dollar and walked outside before I could say anything. I was flabbergasted at her lack of empathy and impatience and told the cashier to put the ice tea on my tab.

This took place at night in the dark and it was freezing cold. After paying for it I walked outside where the blind lady was digging through her many pockets of her jackets and pant pockets trying to find the appropriate change. I handed her the ice tea and said: “Here is your tea.” She apologized for not being able to find her quarter in time and for making me wait in line and asked me what she owed me: “Nothing, enjoy it,” I said. She thanked me profusely and I walked off to my car.

Suddenly a huge epiphany occurred to me as I walked across the parking lot with a slight bounce in my walk. All of a sudden the dots between unhappiness, ego, giving, being overweight and sorrowful eating made all  sense to me! And I remembered what my good role model and hero, Walter Russell, said…

A story I want to share with you tomorrow. Stay tuned for part 2 of this story and check back in tomorrow!

Meanwhile, here is a fun “personality test” you can take online. There are only 4 questions (that make you think) and there are no right or wrong answers. http://memoriter.net/flash/test.html
Discovering the right Fibromyalgia treatment is crucial if you want to achieve total healing. Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue are painful conditions and the depth of pain varies from patient to patient and from day to day. It is possible to find a Chronic Fatigue Syndrome treatment and a Fibromyalgia treatment. The most obvious distinction between Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia is the difference in pain level. Most Fibromyalgia sufferers experience chronic fatigue, but not all chronic fatigue sufferers experience full body pain.

Chaszey has been free from Fibromyalgia for over 10 years and she shares her hard-earned and sacred path to a complete healing in her new Book - Inspiration to Live - a Spiritual Step-by-Step Action Guide to Healing Fibromyalgia.

Here is just a summary of the most familiar Fibromyalgia treatments offered:

Fibromyalgia Medications:

An optional Fibromyalgia treatment is over the counter pain medications such as Tylenol, Aleve, Motrin or Advil may work temporarily to take the edge off the pain ridden body. Unfortunately they are not as useful, especially since a Fibromyalgia sufferer feels more like they are bruised all over the body. Therefore, physicians often prescribe other medications such as antidepressants in combination with over the counter medications. Part of your Fibromyalgia treatment strategy might be to include antidepressants such as Cymbalta or Savella. Doctors may also prescribe anti-seizure drugs like Neurontin or Lyrica.

Since I have myself suffered from Fibromyalgia for many years and now have been symptom free for more than ten years, I strongly urge people not to overload their already irritated nervous system with a temporary band-aid such as medication. Especially since I was successfully able to heal myself from the inside out with alternative and natural ways. To read my full story or get my book visit my web site at www.inspirationtolive.com.

Fibromyalgia Self-Help:

Additional Fibromyalgia treatment options are to include pain therapy, which is what my physician prescribed a number of years ago. He said that learning how to deal with pain was essential since this condition is never-ending and there are no cures. Personally I refused to consider that there are no cures for this condition, and I'm glad I did (because I was right). There is a treatment.

Part of your Fibromyalgia treatment plan might be to receive individual counseling. Talking to a professional about the challenges this condition brings can help, but only temporarily. In my book I talk about the importance to stop talking about this condition. The more you talk about it, the more you feed its essence. As an alternative talk about the good days ahead and what you're setting up to do when you're totally healed and in better shape than ever.

Physical Therapy and soft massages might also become part of your Fibromyalgia treatment strategy. It is important that you stay away from the general massages such as deep tissue or Swedish massages. They are simply too interfering for your swollen nerves. Instead you may settle for and get pleasure from a lymphatic massage.

Lifestyle Modifications:

An imperative practice to include in your Fibromyalgia treatment strategy is to add a soft and satisfying exercise regime. I can't emphasize this enough. It was the last thing I had energy for, the last thing I wanted to do because every move was painful. Now in hindsight it was the single thing that propelled me forward in the direction of healing Fibromyalgia once and for all. It's important that you are kind with yourself and there is no need to get yourself onto a black, double diamond ski slope packed with moguls; it would only make things worse. Gentle walking and light, light weight lifting to start can work wonders. The key is consistency.

And most importantly - your Fibromyalgia diet. I explain in my book what foods to avoid and what foods to add and I am giving out a few of them with you at this time. While your body is fighting this condition it is critical to stay away from white sugars. White sugar is a natural inflammatory, which is the exact opposite of what your Fibromyalgia treatment strategy needs to entail. Sugar regrettably can be found in many things: sodas, alcohol, ketchup, etc. You must temporarily give up all white sugars if you want total healing from Fibromyalgia. If you must use a sweetener in your tea you can check out using alternatives such as blue agave nectar or stevia.

Another important food group to avoid is dairy. There are a few expectations such as real butter. I grew up on a farm in the Swiss mountains and dairy, cheese, butter and cream were part of our daily menu. I couldn't have envisioned a day without any of them. For a Fibromyalgia sufferer, however, dairy is a natural clogger and acts almost like a glue within the nerves of your vessel.

There are many, many other steps you can add to your Fibromyalgia treatment plan. I talk about it in my book and on my web site. And I will keep on posting articles here and on my blog. Join my e-newsletter and learn even more. I can promise you one thing - there is hope because there is a cure and the cure is within you! I am living testimony.

Fibromyalgia Treatment - Healing Fibromyalgia

Which Fibromyalgia treatments work greatest and what kinds of Fibromyalgia treatment is best?

There is not one thing you can do to make Fibromyalgia go away - it took a life time of strain for it to reveal and it won't disappear over night by taking some magic pill. However, my own journey is evidence that Fibromyalgia can be overcome, I have been free from the condition for more than years and have dedicated my newest book to those who even now suffer from this devastating and debilitating condition. I share my hard earned lessons in this easy to read book.

Here is a review of various things people are trying in an effort to finding Fibromyalgia treatment:

Fibromyalgia Medications

A number of Fibromyalgia treatments consists of taking medicines to treat symptoms such as muscle ache, sleep problems, depression, fear or anxiety. Some approved Fibromyalgia medicines are Cymbalta, Lyrica, Savella. I am naturally against medication but particularly for someone with Fibromyalgia. A person's wiring system that suffers from Fibromyalgia symptoms will over time get even more confused and only makes the body more susceptible to other problems. New research shows that cancer risk is twofold for those with Fibromyalgia. There are many alternative Fibromyalgia treatment strategies available.

Physical Therapy for Fibromyalgia Sufferers

Another Fibromyalgia treatment that physicians often prescribe is physical therapy to help control Fibromyalgia pain and to teach self-management skills. I personally believe that a day by day, gentle and regular exercise program works miracles. I recall it being the last thing I wanted to do. My body was aching, I felt like I had been in a horrible accident and felt injured all over my body and the last thing I wanted to do was move my body. And yet it was the one task that eventually helped me make a come back. The secret is to be gentle and kind to yourself. There's no need to be harsh with your body.

Medical Marijuana

I have a zero tolerance for drugs, period, and while there may (or may not) be proof that marijuana works as a Fibromyalgia treatment, what gets ruined in your brain along the path is irreparable. The trade-off is not worth it.

Fibromyaliga Diet

A very valuable Fibromyalgia treatment is to eat healthy. The longest chapter in my book is dedicated to the Fibromyalgia diet and I can't stress enough how imperative a healthy diet is for Fibromyalgia sufferers. For immediate relief there are 3 things you can cut out immediately and get excellent results:

  • white sugar
  • dairy products
  • articifial anything (be it artificial butter or articifial sweeteners)

New Fibromyalgia information reveals that cancer risk is doubled in those suffering with Fibromyalgia. Instead of putting your faith and time waiting for pharmaceutial companies to provide you with a wonder pill, find healing from within. I did and have been free from Fibromyalgia symptoms for more than 10 years and I can show you how to do the same.

New Fibromyalgia information also shows that 6% of those suffering from Fibromyalgia are actually drawing social security. For sources and more details please visit Chaszey's web site.

So what is Fibromyalgia?

General symptoms of Fibromyalgia are:

  • Muscle spasms or tightness of the muscles
  • Leg cramps
  • Moderate fatigue
  • Decreased energy
  • Insomnia
  • Waking up tired, even though you slept well
  • Stiffness in the morning or after sitting in one position for a long time
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Irritable bowel syndrome
  • Bloating
  • Abdominal pain
  • Nausea
  • Constipation alternating with diarrhea
  • Tension headaches
  • And much more

When I suffered from Fibromyalgia I felt like I had a persistent flu accompanied with a hyper sensitive body. I couldn't be touched without me feeling like I was aching all over. To read my complete story, visit my site. To visit other people's story, visit Chaszey's blog.

We require new Fibromyalgia healers and new Fibromyalgia information rather than watching commercial after commercial telling us to stuff ourselves with yet another brand new medicine.

New Fibromyalgia information requires to tell you that taking drugs is the most horrible thing you can do because medicine needs to get absorbed into your blood and your liver, which is already not functioning propery when you suffer from Fibromyalgia, becomes even more stressed and more confused. A few of the internal symptoms of Fibromyalgia contain confusion of the nerves, blood and the overall wiring is crossed. Stuffing yourself with drugs only ads to this confusion, first by masking the pain with a momentary bandaid and then rearing its nasty head like medusa. No wonder Fibromyalgia sufferers are twice as likely to get cancer than non-Fibromyalgia sufferers. New Fibromyalgia information must provide this information to the public and promote healing Fibromyalgia organically.

I have been free from Fibromyalgia symptoms for over 10 years and I talk about the heartbreaking journey of getting the run-around from the medical professionals in my new book, which you can download on my web site. New Fibromyalgia information today stresses alternative healing modalities. One of my visitors talks about having a permanent morphine drip applied to help her lower the Fibromyalgia pain. This is madness because over time not only will Morphine have lost its effect, she'll be a drug addict with an entire new set of problems. And Fibromyalgia will have turned into something much more terrible to deal with.

New Fibromyalgia information calls for organic, alternative healing ways such as no stress, walking out in nature, preferrably amongst the trees, playing with animals, your dog or cat, horses, any furry angel you can pet will bring major healing to your body temple. Listening to gentle meditation music and eliminating TV all together, certainly the news and the commercials. Letting go of non-beneficial acquaintances and surrounding yourself with supportive, optimistic people instead can work a miracle in many Fibromyalgia sufferers.

Another aspect of new Fibromyalgia healing strategies are to eat organic and natural, no meat or dairy until your body is entirely healed. Sugars and artificial sweeteners are probably your number one rival. It's almost not possible for a body suffering from Fibromyalgia to cure itself when you feed it the very thing that continues keeping it inflamed and irritated. It's only temporary; I eat sugar these days, but I've been free from Fibromyalgia symptoms for over ten years. Read my motivating story on my web site and via my blog and definitely sign up for my newsletter where I give you tips and even share recipes with new Fibromyalgia information.

A client of mine called me in a panic because she had a disturbing dream in which she was diagnosed with cancer on her arm. In her dream she went to bed with a healthy arm and when she awoke a mole on her arm had swollen to the size of a golf ball. She went to the doctor who told her that he needed to remove half of her arm all the way up to her upper arm and that she needed to do chemo and radiation to make sure the cancer wouldn't grow back.

She agreed to have the cancer cut out but refused to do chemo and radiation.

This was a significant decision for many reasons for her. She had been in a relationship so intense, those close to them called it a relationship of many lifetimes. Indeed, their connection had been unprecedented by many. Unfortunately, the man with whom she was involved with, had many flaws (or shall we say 'red flags') that she wasn't willing to overlook. He lied, he cheated, he did steroids, he had hit every other woman before her, he was terrible with money, and so on. She wasn't willing to overlook these red flags and ended the relationship more than a year ago.

However, for some reason she wasn't able to move on. She wasn't able to date anyone else and she simply couldn't stop thinking about him. She felt as though the death of their relationship cost her her femininity (thus her left arm was affected). Their connection was so great, that she felt him wherever he went, even long after their break up she would be able to 'feel him' and his presence and was able to 'read' and 'hear' his thoughts.

Would she want him back?, I asked her, and the answer was very clear: absolutely not! So why was it so difficult for her to let him go, knowing that she'd never take him back anyway? It was as if she was haunted by their connection. Even cord cutting, rituals, praying, exorcism and meditating didn't help.
Yet there he was, manifested in her dream as a cancer, something that needed to be cut out and treated. The doctor told her that she not only needed to cut out the cancer (him) but that she needed treatment (chemo and radiation) to assure that it (he) won't come back to haunt her.

Her response to the doctor was interesting: "You can cut out the cancer ('the man') but if that doesn't do it and the cancer grows back then I'm meant to die."

What is she really saying to her higher self ?

She is saying that she is finally willing to have this guy cut out of her life and her mind, once and for all, and that she needs outside help in order to do so. She is also saying that she's not willing to destroy her body otherwise in order to assure that he won't return, and that she has faith that once he's cut out and cut off, that he won't return. She is saying that she's not willing to continue dragging his spirit along only so she can suffer by a weak body and immune system (by refusing ongoing treatment).

It's her own willingness to let go and take drastic measures and her confidence in doing so that finally sets herself free!

Congratulations! You did it! You're finally free!

Hello Dear Ones,

My good role model, Walter Russell, was a scientist and philosopher and the founder of the University of Science of Philosophy. I am a student of the University and much of my growth has been due to their examples, even though they long past on to greener pastures; their lessons, books and courses are continuing to refresh my spirit.

One of their beliefs is that the Receiving can only take place at the moment of Giving. There is no such thing as “taking” – the “give and take” as we know it completely defies universal laws. There is only GIVING.

Interestingly enough, if you look at Mother Nature and her principles, we see this concept at work all the time in all places, without exception. The soil gives moisture to the sky and in turn the sky forms clouds which give back to Mother Nature in form of rainwater. And the effects of this giving and re-giving touch every being on this planet and beyond. The cycle never ends and the more giving that takes place, the more re-giving can take place.

When it comes to humanity, relationships and our weight, however, we somehow haven’t quite figured this out yet. We withhold our love from the ones we love because of some nonsense that lurks in our heads, and we withhold food from our bodies because we somehow punish it for the creepiness that we listen to (starve yourself, eat less, count calories). And yet Mother Nature, no matter how long it takes her, will make sure that balance reigns, even when it hurts us she gently yet steadily holds the balancing stick to all that is. And humanity continues to suffer the consequences of our disobedience and it shows in our lack of health and the whopping 84% divorce rate for third marriages (if we didn’t do it right the first time, what makes us think that it will be better the second or third time around unless we KNOW exactly where to break that link?).

What is balance and how does it apply to our health, weight and our relationships?

Think about it, I would love to read your comment here…

Much love to everyone!

"I appreciated reading your story. My wife has had a similar diagnosis and in addition to the various categories that could "explain" her symptoms, her doctor and her research have added Lyme disease to the mix. Have you explored that option? Best wishes for the New Year." Rey Carr

Hello Rey,

Congratulations on being an involved husband. I don't say this lightly because I know how tough it must be for a loved one to 'stand by and watch' without being able to do much. Kudos for you, I hope your wife knows how lucky she is. :-)

Yes, Lyme disease is one of the conditions that have almost identical symptoms to Fibromyalgia, thus it needs to be tested for before making the final diagnosis of Fibromyalgia. Just because someone has the classic tender points and other symptoms doesn't mean they have Fibromyalgia. One of my concerns is that because of the growing number of people (mainly women) doctors will come to the diagnosis faster but at the expense of it being another, much more serious condition.

Conditions with similar symptoms but much more serious are:
  • Lymphoma
  • Hodgkin's Disease
  • Lyme Disease
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Hepatitis B or C (or other liver conditions) Lupus
  • And other lymphatic or immune related diseases.
I'm sure her doctor has already checked her for the above possibilities and if they've all been ruled out and her diagnosis stands firm at Fibromyalgia, then my story and my book can certainly help.

It's a book about self love. I'm not an expert at Fibromyalgia. I'm an expert at having disliked myself, even hating myself and my life to the point that my body had no choice but to match my inner vibration. I'm also an expert at recognizing that in myself as well as in others, and turning it around 180 degrees. It's a book about a true love story to Self and how to get there and heal our ailments, weight issues and relationship issues by the mere words "I love you" to Self. Of course there are practical steps to take and various natural supplements that helped me recover. There is hope!

I hope these words help and I too wish you and your wife only health, happiness and much love and light for the New Year!

"Hi Chaszey, I too have fibromyalgia, for 14 years; it happened after the birth of my third child. I have a question that maybe you can help me with, my 15 year old daughter is experiencing the beginning stages of what I think it's fm, the sore knots in the shoulders and neck, back pain, fatigue, etc. Do you think she is to young for this horrible disease? Thanks so much." Anabel

Dear Anabel,

Thank you for writing! Fibromyalgia is not a disease in the traditional sense. Yes, the condition promotes strong feelings of dis-ease, but there are no blood tests that confirm one having or not having this condition. I dedicate and entire chapter of what I 'see' in people who have Fibromyalgia. In a nutshell it's body whose wires are crossed to the point where one function doesn't communicate with another function. Just like with Luga's story above, the reason the morphine injections don't work is because her body's wires are crossed and the body doesn't really know what to do with the morphine. In a regular person the brain tells the body to bring comfort and relaxation to one part of the body. However, with a person with Fibromyalgia none of these messages get through. That's why very often people take pain medication and suddenly they work like a pick-me-up drug keeping the person awake and yet the pain still doesn't leave.

Fibromyalgia in its purest sense is a body's nervous system thoroughly inflamed and confused to the point of shut down. No, I don't think that a 15 year old is too young to have the onset or even full blown Fibromyalgia. However, and this is a big however, make sure that other things like MS, Lupus, etc. are ruled out first.

Fibromyalgia comes from stress, not just stress from last year, but stress that was induced when we were children. Stress that went unchecked. Stress that was shoved under the rug because we're supposed to be super women. Even our children and teenagers are pressured to do all and be all. It's too much for our body to handle. And one event, such as an accident or in your case giving birth for the third time, shuts the body down completely.

Add to that the solar and planetary changes that are happening and it's no wonder that more and more people will come down with stress related conditions such as Fibromyalgia. But there is hope!

Be gentle with yourself. Be graceful to yourself and be loving with yourself. Let go of the unnecessary stress related pressures. Get back to nature and doing one thing at a time (rather than multi-tasking). Do everything with love, touch everything with love. Say everything with love (or don't say it at all). :-) Work less, play more. Laugh a lot, show kindness a lot!

Keep me posted on your progress, dear Anabel, and let me know how the book is going for you.

Sending you loving rays of warm sunlight,

"I have been battling Fibro for the past 20 years! And it seems to be getting worse. I also have chronic back pain and have recently had a morphine electronic pump put in for my back. The doctor thought this would surely help the pain of the fibromyalgia but it has not. I'm looking for some kind of relief. Maybe your book will be helpful." Luga

Dear Luga,

Thank you for taking the time to send in your story. My heart-felt cyberhug goes out to you.

As you know, I received cortisone shots from the time I was 4 years old to the time I was 15 years old. The poison attacked my soft tissue and by the time I was 12 years old I was disqualified from school sports. I had an achy body and my lower back was the worst. By the time I was 18 I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and told that my MRI looked as though I was 30 years old and that I needed back surgery, which I refused. By the time I was 25 my back was hurting so badly that neither standing up nor laying down was giving me any relief. Another MRI by a different doctor confirmed that my body had aged and it looked as though he was viewing the insides of a 60 year old woman. God only knows that I felt old and brittle.

I went ahead and had my back surgery. Life has never been the same since and getting Fibromyalgia only a couple of years later only made things worse.I truly understand your pain!Having said that, I hope you will read my entire story and how I healed myself not only from Fibromyalgia, the rheumatism, the chronic fatigue, but also the backaches, the chronic carpal tunnel, the temporary but agonizing lapses of memory and everything else that seems to accompany this condition.

There truly is hope!

Do order the book and find tips and guidance in there, and at minimum someone who relates to you on every level. For now let me tell you this. I know you don't feel like exercising. It seems like a contradiction. How can an achy body get exercised when the last thing you want to do is move? And I'm not asking you to exercise, but I am asking you to try the following. Get 5-10 minutes of sun every day. Go outside and walk in the sun. Walk slowly, however slow you want. As long as you walk and move your body in the sun.

Do this for about a month. Then check back with me.Keep me posted, dear Luga!

Rays to warm your heart on your journey,

AN OVERVIEW OF FIBROMYALGIA
"A Story of Survival and
A Spiritual Step by Step Action Guide
to Recovering from Fibromyalgia."

An Overview of Fibromyalgia
It is estimated that 6 to 12 million people in the United States are affected by Fibromyalgia, costing the U.S. Economy over $20 billion dollars. And although there is no known medical cure for the condition, Chaszey Sandhriel, who suffered from Fibromyalgia for many years, is about to share her strategies for how she cured herself of the condition in her upcoming book, Inspiration To Live – A Story of Survival and a Spiritual Step by Step Action Guide to Recovering from Fibromyalgia. She has been healthy for over a decade and has made it her mission to share her wisdom with others so they can transmute this debilitating condition into amazing health once again.
Controversies
Because there are no tests that provide a clear-cut ‘yes-or-no’ diagnosis, Fibromyalgia continues to be a disputed condition. Many members of the medical community consider fibromyalgia a non-disease because of a lack of abnormalities on physical examination, the absence of objective diagnostic tests, and extensive overlap with other similar conditions such as chronic fatigue syndrome. And yet the condition is very real to those 16.2% of patients with Fibromyalgia who are drawing social security and nearly 30% of sufferers claim that they cannot hold down a steady job due to this condition (Source: Wolfe F, et al.: Work and disability status of persons with FMS. J Rheumatology 24(6):1171-8, 1997).
There is No Official Cure - Until Now
To date there is no cure for Fibromyalgia, although the pharmaceutical companies are spending fortunes to produce medicines that help control some of the symptoms or at least bring comfort to those who suffer from the condition. Fibromyalgia Symptoms
Fibromyalgia Symptoms

Fibromyalgia is described as a chronic, body-wide pain disorder coupled with many other symptoms such as severe daytime fatigue, unrefreshed sleep, bowel and bladder abnormalities, chronic headaches, morning stiffness, cognitive or memory impairments, reduced coordination and decreased physical endurance. In a literal sense Fibromyalgia translates to muscle and connective tissue pain. Other symptoms also include difficulty with swallowing, and numbness and tingling in all of the limbs. Psychiatric conditions associated with Fibromyalgia such as anxiety, depression and posttraumatic stress disorder are also common amongst Fibromyalgia sufferers.

Cancer Risk Doubled for Those With Fibromyalgia

Preliminary findings also indicate that the cancer risk is also doubled in people with Fibromyalgia (Source: Macfarlane GJ, et al.: Widespread body pain and mortality: Prospective population based study. BMJ 22:1-4, 2001).

An Interesting Study and Additional Statistics
An Interesting Study and Additional Statistics

In March 2007 Bio Medical Central Musculoskeletal Disorders published a recent Internet study where over 2,500 Fibromyalgia sufferers provided feedback based on their experience with this condition. 98.4% of these interviewees have been formally diagnosed with the condition. The findings can be summarized as follows: Almost 50% of the respondents visited 3-6 health care providers before receiving the final diagnosis. More than 96% of the respondents were middle-aged females, moderately overweight, and 91% were Caucasian. 75% of the respondents had been suffering with the condition for more than 4 years. Approximately 20% of these respondents had filed some form of disability claim and 6% received workman’s compensation.

  • 44% of all respondents had visited a health care provider up to 4 times in the previous year.
  • 23% of all respondents visited a health care provider 5-8 times in the previous year.
  • 14% of all respondents visited a health care provider 9-12 times in the previous year.
  • And 13% reported more than 12 visits to a health care provider in the previous year.
  • Almost 30% of the respondents have visited an Emergency room at least once in the previous year and hospitalization accounts to more than 3% of the respondents.

When I decided to get into the dating scene a few weeks ago I was simply compartmentalizing that part of my life into its own category, away from everything else, at least so I thought. Little did I know what would take place over the next few weeks. While this originally started as a site to talk about "Transforming Chronic Illness Into Vibrant Health", it is obvious that I don't want to talk about chronic illness or ailments, which would only increase your ill feeling. And this is certainly not a "poor you" site where we pity you because of your ailments. It’s a site to examine where chronic illness and unhappiness come from. And since many would love to blame their external world, all those things come from within.

I have found over and over again that many illnesses are related to stress and most stress is related to wrong partnerships. Even the stress that some think is related to jobs or money are in fact really related to people being with wrong partnerships, wrong friends, wrong employers and wrong co-workers. Whether we are stuck in a job with co-workers or a boss we can’t stand, or we are stuck in a marriage or relationship that has long outlived its welcome, stress of this kind is a major reason for so many of our ailments. In fact it has been said that cancer is anger turned inward…

I didn’t just decide to start dating a few weeks ago, the decision was made last December. I took 5-6 solid months of preparing by asking myself serious questions. Questions like: “Who am I as a dating partner?” "What do I really have to offer?" “What are my ethical standards?” “How do I want to handle each encounter, either in person or via e-mail?” How do I want my dating partner to feel after an encounter with me?” “What do I have to bring and offer to this other person?” And on and on I asked myself these questions, getting very clear with who I am and what I want, but most importantly, what I want the other person to walk away with, whether or not there would ever be a phone call or anything beyond an e-mail. For me it's all about kindness.

And I’m so blessed to see that I have stuck to my intentions and they have paid off so gloriously! So much so that a thought crossed my mind last week that perhaps I need to become an Internet Dating Coach and Expert...

My profile has been viewed almost 10,000 in the last 4-5 weeks with a 20% response rate. I am overwhelmed needless to say. Meanwhile, however, I figured out my own system on how to be fair and get to almost everyone. The response from everyone has been so amazing and filled with grace and gifts I never knew could come from a strangers. Our words are the most powerful force and can make or break someone...

Just yesterday one of the gentlemen sent me the following poem and I think it speaks to what we all want:

"Oh the comfort
The inexpressible comfort
Of feeling safe with another person.
Having neither to weigh thoughts
Nor measure words
But pouring them all right out
Just as they are
Chaff and grain together -
Certain that a faithful hand
Will take and sift them
Keep what is worth keeping
And with a breath of kindness
Blow the rest away."

So when you feel down and you feel like the people closest to you are not doing their job, perhaps you may decide to first become that which you want them to become, only then will they see in you how to be themselves…And then perhaps these people can fall away from you because your journeys have come to an end or they will want to change, as do you. It's not our job to change others, it's our job to inspire others by the mere existence of who we are. Not because we try so hard, but because "we just are."

Go claim your closeness with others! It’s an amazing gift!
My friend took some new photos of me in an effort to create a smashing Internet Dating profile. What a fun journey this has been!

I'm having such a blast with this, I think I need to become an Internet Dating Coach!
